Send Postcards to the House and Senate

Little by little, I’m getting it done!

Popular writerly wisdom says that all authors should refrain from posting anything political. And that advice goes double for cozy mystery writers.

But that same wisdom says we should be ourselves. If you know me, you know that, for me, that means standing up for my family, friends, and neighbors.

Which means I’m sending postcards to every of the US House of Representatives and Senate. I’m also calling my senators and representative as often as I can. For the postcards, I created a mailing list (based on publicly available information) and a template for printing labels.

If you want to send postcards too, I’m happy to share this list with you.

You can get pre-printed postcards at Signs of Justice. You’ll need about 600 for everyone. You’ll also need postage (you can order from USPS to make it easy.) I’m sure there are other ways to tackle the project too.

If you want to pare back the price, you can send cards to only your own Representative and Senators (find their names and addresses at House.Gov and Senate.Gov) Or, download the 5Calls app and phone them.

Wherever you stand and whatever you can do, now is a good time to let your government officials know what you think of the job you are doing.
